As Jason said last night 'sometimes life just happens and you need to go to bed and just wake up and start all over again'. I'm going to start at the beginning of the night last night. I fixed tacos for supper. As always, Travis came over to watch 24 with us. We don't ever start are shows until they are about half way into them so we don't have to watch commercials. So, after dinner Jason started hanging the kitchen cabinets back up, I started cleaning up the mess from supper and Travis took Christian down stairs to play. After cleaning up the mess I decided it would be a great idea to finally do Christian's hand print. I was supposed to do it when he turned 1 but I kept forgetting. It's this plaster mold thing I got that you do a hand print each year until he is 5. All you do is mix a little water with the plaster and stick their hand in it and your done. It is supposed to be the consistency of toothpaste, so when I got it too thick I thought oh well I'll just add a little more water from the bottle of water sitting next to me. When I stuck Christian's hand down in it he grabbed the plaster and it looked like a big blob not a hand print. I mixed up some more using the bottle of water next to me and tried it again. This time we got a decent one but it didn't want to stay molded very well. I thought oh well I'm not trying it again this will be fine. Travis and I took Christian back downstairs to play. I had picked up two shelves yesterday for our family room and I asked Jason if he could hang them for me. Now if you know my husband and I it never fails when it comes to hanging pictures or shelves there's always going to be a disagreement. You should have been there when we were finishing Christian's nursery a year and a half ago. I'm sure Travis remembers the "discussion". Anyways, that's another story. So, after Jason finished hanging the kitchen cabinets he started on the shelves. It wasn't too long after I was downstairs that Travis and I heard the typical swearing and yelling that goes along with hanging shelves. I went upstairs to see what could possibly be going wrong. I must also tell you my husband is a typical guy who does not need to read the instructions completely through if at all. This is why Travis and I put all the baby furniture together for Christian and Jason did all the painting. I get in the family room to see what all the fuss is about and he's mad as can be at the shelves and of course at me for getting the shelves in the first place. He couldn't get the shelves to lock in the brackets and every time he would push down on the shelf it would crash to the floor. This was messing up his newly painted walls. You can imagine how mad Jason was. So, I asked if there was anything I could do and he replies hatefully that I could sweep up the mess from him drilling the holes in the wall. I get the dust pan out and started sweeping away when all of a sudden the stupid shelf comes crashing down on top of my head. Normally when I get hurt I get mad and when I say mad I mean MAD. This on the other hand was different. The pain shot through my neck all the way to my shoulders. I thought oh my god I'm going to pass out. Jason thought it did knock me out since I didn't respond with my usual anger. I kept trying to fight back the tears but it hurt way to bad. I very rarely ever cry, especially over pain. Jason grabbed me and gave me a hug. This is when I lost it and started crying. He thought I was laughing. Not a good time to mistake the two. So I ran into the bedroom and laid on the bed and cried because of the pain throbbing on the back of my head. Jason followed me in there and tried to console me. I was fine just really sore and I hate being smothered so I got up and took some Ibuprofen. This is when it hit me that the reason the consistency was off on the plaster was because the bottle of water wasn't water it was coconut rum that I had left over from a party that we went to a bout a month ago. So Christian's mold is made with plaster and coconut rum. We needed a little humour at this point in the night. I went downstairs to play with Christian and to tell Travis what all had happened. When I got downstairs Christian ran over to me all excited. I knelt down to pick him up and he bit my shoulder and I mean he bit it hard. He even broke the skin a little. So I screamed out in shock which scared Christian and he started crying. We all heard another crash from upstairs and more swearing and thought we all better go see what is going on. Once we got upstairs we saw that the second shelf had fallen. I questioned Jason for the second or third time to make sure he read the instructions and of course the reply was that he had. I didn't believe him for one second I know my husband and He never reads the instructions first. I saw him casually pick up the instructions and glance at them and what do you know he went in and fixed the top shelf and the bottom shelf and we had no more problems. We all decided to sit on the couch and take a break while Christian played for awhile. Christian loves to have me read books to him so of course he went and grabbed a book but instead of handing it to me like he usually does he threw it at me and it hit the top of my nose. It was one of those board books also so you can imagine how that felt. At this point I had had it. It was time for Christian to go to bed. I had washed his sheets and blanket and they were still drying so I thought I would use his other sheet that he has that matches his bedding and what do you know I ripped the silly thing trying to put it on his mattress. I had to throw that sheet away and find a new one. Luckily I bought some just plain white ones for his bed as backups. I got those out and put them on. I swear could the night have gone anymore wrong. This is when Jason gave me a hug and said "Sometimes life just happens and you just need to go to bed and start all over again." I hugged him back and we went down stairs to finally start watching 24. My head is still throbbing today and I have a nice size knot on it.

Christian's hand in the mold.

He didn't know what to think of the plaster.

Here is the finished hand print.

Here are the finished shelves. I still need to add some different pictures to the bottom shelf and maybe out some wall words up. I haven't decided what exactly I want to do.
