Family Fun Night

This morning and early afternoon was a bit rough with Christian. I don't know what the deal is, but for the past two weeks Christian has just been such a handful. He hasn't been listening well and he is talking back and being mean to us and others. I am starting to think that it might have something to do with how busy I have been the last two weeks and I have not really been able to play and do as much with him one on one as I normally do. One thing that gave me my first clue was when Christian was getting ready to take his nap he wanted me to lay with him and tuck him in. I do this everyday that he takes a nap. He used to always hide under his blankets and tease me and then I would pretend that I couldn't find him and he would giggle and then I would tickle him. I would always pretend to be mad at him while he was hiding and then I would surprise him and tickle him. Today when he hid and I tried to pretend I was mad at him he hurried up and got out from under the blankets and started apologizing to me. I then realized that he thinks I am always mad at him and that we have not had enough play time together. I ran over to him and started tickling him like we used to do and told him that I tricked him and he thought I was mad. He laughed and laughed. I couldn't help but feel sad though that his first reaction was to apologize instead of giggle and laugh. This afternoon Christian ate a good lunch and he took a good nap, so when he woke up we played Lincoln Logs for a while. I think that is just what he needed. He was instantly my sweet wonderful boy again. When Jason got home I told him how much better Christian was this afternoon. We decided that if he was good all through dinner then we would take him to go get ice cream. He was very good at supper, so we took him to Sweet Ce-Ce's for ice cream. We wanted to stop by the park on the way home but Jax was getting too fussy and we didn't bring his food with us. After we got home and fed Jax we sat outside on the front porch swing and watched Christian run around and catch lightening bugs. It was such a perfect family evening and much needed!

Cars 2

Today was the day that we finally got to take Christian to see Cars 2. We have been waiting since December for this movie to come out and we could not wait to take Christian to it. I got him a Cars 2 shirt to wear and he brought his Lightening McQueen car with him. We asked travis like seven months ago if he would watch Jax for us the weekend this movie came out. Travis was more than happy to hang out with Jax for a couple of hours! it gave them some bonding time together. The movie was great, but Christian did not sit still through it. For some reason when we go to the movies he will sit still for the first half and then he is up running around. I think he was being extra troublesome since he didn't get a nap in also. Oh well, he still enjoyed it even if Mommy and Daddy weren't exactly thrilled with his behavior. After the movie we came home and fixed spaghetti for dinner. Christian actually fell asleep in the car on the way home if that tells you how tired he was. After dinner Christian went Straight to bed and jason and I got to watch the Season Premier of True Blood. I am excited for cars 2 to come out on DVD, so we can watch it again with hopefully less distractions!

Christian & Jason At The 3d Shoot

This morning Jason took Christian on his first 3D archery Shoot. Christian was so excited to get to go shoot his bow with his daddy and have a guys morning out. As much as I missed getting to be there with them I have to say that I had a great morning at home with my baby Jax. I never get to have time by myself with Jax, so that was nice! I didn't have a lot of time though because Jax decided to be lazy and sleep a lot of the morning. I took full advantage of this and got to work on cleaning up our house. I started off by washing our sheets and I ended up organizing the storage room and put away some of Jax's baby things that he has outgrown. It is always so sad for me to do this. It is amazing how fast they grow up! Christian had a blast with his daddy at the shoot. He loved jumping in puddles and walking through the woods. Jason was only going to shoot the first 15 and when he was finished Christian was not ready to go home yet and I was on a roll getting things done in the house, so they shot the next 15! Christian was covered in mud when he got home and he went straight into the bath. He was so excited to tell me all about shooting his bow with Daddy!

A Perfect End To A Crazy Week

This past week has been so crazy busy! We had vacation bible school every morning from 8:45 - 12 and it seemed like everyday we had something to do afterwards. On Monday I went to the Supply house for work and then went over to Mom and dad's and painted their shutters and doors for them. We had dinner there that night because Jason met us over there so he could start our boat and make sure it was running okay. Tuesday I had a ton of laundry to catch up on and things to do around the house. On Wednesday I worked and we had Family night at Vacation Bible school. On Thursday we went and swam at Mom and dad's and then did grocery shopping that night. I was so glad when Friday finally got here! After the closing of Vacation Bible School I headed home to lay the boys down for naps and to finish cleaning my house. We decided to have a little cook out and it ended up turning into a kind of big cook out. It started off with Jason saying he was going to grill Tyler Chicken wings sometime, so Martha and Tyler were planning to come over. Alisann was supposed to have a job, but it got moved so then her and Justin were able to come. I figured since it wasn't going to be just Martha and Tyler now we might as well invite the rest of the family! This all got decided the night before. I had no idea that my brother John was in town for a golf scramble, so he was able to come also. Alisann's best friend from grade school and her husband Adam (who happens to be Tyler's brother) also came over. We all had the best time hanging out together. Alisann and I kept trying to think of what we used to call fanny packs back when they used to be cool and we could not think of the name for anything. For some reason fanny pack just didn't seem right. We never did come up with the name for it. I was also super excited that my sister Becky was able to come. Becky is always so busy that it is so hard for us to ever get together like this. I really hope we can all do this again soon!

A Successful Yard Sale

Well today we had the last of our yard sale and it was a success! We sold a ton of stuff and whatever didn't sell jason took to the goodwill. I am so relieved to be done with that! My goal was to make $600 and I made $527. I was thrilled with that. I wanted to make at least $400. We made a group total of over a thousand dollars! I think this will be the last yard sale for a while. they are just so much work! It does feel great to get rid of so much stuff!

Family Night At Vacation Bible School

Tonight we went to family Night at Vacation Bible School. I have to say Jason and I were a little disappionted in it though. Maybe it was our fault for being so excited to see our little boy in his first program that we had way to high expectations. We were expecting the kids to each get up in there groups and show us a song that they learned or something and instead the kids all sat in the pews in their groups and we all got to listen to two nuns tell their story of how they decided to become nuns. Both talks were long even for me, so I can only imagine what it felt like to three year olds and the rest of the kids. They did sing some song but they made the kids stay in their pews so we really couldn't see anything. Christian of course just sat there anyways. I think he was quite bored with the talks and prayers. Don't get me wrong I know that vacation Bible School is all about learning about Jesus, but I couldn't help but feel like they could have done a better job of making it more fun for the kids. After the prayer service they had a little reception with cookies and cake. It was kind of funny that we were so excited for Christian's first program and everything. My parents were there, Jason told people he worked with about it, I took off work early. So we did have to laugh at ourselves a little for being those crazy parents! After the reception we went and had a late dinner at Hornet's Nest with Mom and dad and then we headed home. Even though it wasn't what we expected it was still fun to be at something for Christian! God help us when he really starts getting involved with things.

This is Patrick's 'Oh' face. It is the cutest thing ever! I just love my sweet baby Patrick!

First Day Of Vacation Bible School

This morning Christian went to his first day of Vacation Bible School. This is the first time he has done something like this so we were all super excited this morning for him! His teacher is his Aunt Mary and his cousins James and Lily are both in his class also. I volunteered this week to help out with snacks. It was so fun getting to see him line up with his group and get to watch him interact with other kids. I love that he is still at the age where he is excited to see me and he wants to give me hugs and kisses no matter who is watching. I will be so sad the day that he no longer wants me around all the time or is too embarrassed to give me hugs and kisses. Christian got to learn new songs, do crafts, play games and learn about Jesus. He had a lot of fun and is looking forward to going back tomorrow. I was so relieved! They sent home some soil and seeds for us to plant with Christian so we had fun doing that tonight when Jason got home from work.
