Out Of Commission

The past couple of days we have all been under the weather. Yesterday I had the flu all day and had probably never felt so bad. Luckily Jason took Christian to work with him in the morning and Jax slept in. There was no way I could even move to get out of bed, much less take care of the boys. As quickly as I got the flu it went away. I was so worried that I was going to have to call into work today. Jason has had the flu all day today but his doesn't seem to be near as bad as what I had. Jax has also started with runny diapers today. Hopefully it doesn't get any worst than that. Christian has been sleeping more lately and has felt a little warm, but he is doing fine other than that. I hope this is the last run of sickness for the flu season. We are not used to all of us being down and out like this!

Movie Night With The Broeker's

Last night Jamie, Ben, Kyle, and Hannah all came over for a long awaited movie night. We ordered pizza, Popped popcorn and had candy to eat. We watched The Smurfs. I had more fun watching the kids together, than watching the movie. It is so fun to watch them laughing and interacting with each other. Kyle has been wanting to do this since spring and we are just now getting to do it. We have got to do our next one a lot sooner than this. It was lots of fun hanging out with everyone!

Hanging Out The Day After Christmas

The Day after Christmas we spent the morning at home playing with all the boys' new toys and trying to get some order back to our house. That afternoon we went over to Mom and Dad's to hang out. Christian got to shoot his new BB gun for the first time. He was really excited to show Grandma and Grandpa it! IT was so nice to be able to just sit and relax after the past couple days of running around.

Ritzy Fantasy Of Lights

I forgot to post this! The night before Christmas eve we took the boys through the Ritzy Fantasy Of Lights. Christian was super excited to to get to ride up front with us while we drove through and saw all the lights. Jax also enjoyed looking at all the displays! We got Starbuck's before we got there and we got to enjoy that while we watched all the displays. It was a nice little outing. We do this every year and we really like it!

Christmas With The Shetler Side

Our last stop for the day was over to my Uncle Gary's to celebrate Christmas with the Shetler side. We didn't get to stay too long here because the boys were so exhausted. We had an unbelievable dinner of beef tenderloin, loaded potatoes, green beans, corn, rolls, and salad. After dinner we played a dirty Santa gift exchange. It was lots of fun! The hot items were a snowman plate that Aunt Karen brought and a gift card to Log Inn. I started out with a kit to make ice cream and then I ended up with a rocket launcher. After my Ice Cream kit got stolen I stole the snowman plate and that got stolen right away and then I had Christian pick what he wanted me to get. He of course picked the rocket launcher. Every year John comes up with a funny or clever gift and nobody ever wants to get John's gift. This year he wrapped his really nice to disguise it. Kelsey ended up with his gift and when she found out it was his the look on her face was priceless. It ended up being a 2009 edition of the phone book and he placed $20 dollars throughout the whole book, so she had to page through each page to find all the money. It was really funny! We left right after the exchange so Jax could go to bed and Christian could have some time to play with his toys. When we asked him what his favorite gift was he said of all things that it was the rocket launcher! I was like you have got to be kidding me! As tired as we all were I think we all agree that this was one of the best Christmas' yet! I can only imagine how wonderful next year will be when we have Lucas to share it with us!

Christmas At Kenny & LeeAnn's

Our second stop of the day was to Kenny and LeeAnn's. Christian was excited to see Grandpa's new fishing boat that he got and the kids had fun playing in that for a little bit. Once we got things unloaded and settled in we decided to open up presents! There was no way the kids were going to wait through lunch to open them and I knew Jax would be in a much better mood sooner than later. Christian was in rare form by this time. He wanted to just start opening everything and we had to settle him down and have him wait his turn. The kids opened there stockings first where they got snacks and handpainted ornaments from LeeAnn. Christian got lots of great gifts from his grandma and grandpa. His favorites being a big red combine 'Frank' and his first Red Ryder BB Gun. He also got lincoln logs and clothes. Jax got a lawn mower, a basket ball goal and his jean quilt made by LeeAnn. He also got some clothes as well. The boys also got trains for their train set from Aunt Jamie, Uncle Ben, Kyle and Hannah. I was especially excited with my gifts from Kenny and LeeAnn. They had Jamie and I open our presents at the same time, because we got the same thing. I about died when I opened it. It was a Pandora charm bracelet! I was so excited! I was just telling one of my clients the other day that I would love to have one of those. He had asked me what he should get his wife for Christmas and I had suggested that. It is one of those things that you don't want to ask for and is so much better to be surprised with. I can't wait to get charms with the boys' birthstones to add to it. There are so many cute charms for them! I also got these old fashioned aluminum glasses that I had been wanting. I used to drinking out of something very similar when I was a kid at my Grandma Folz's house and the drinks always were so cold in them! Jason got a outside thermometer, a cabella's gift card and a coffee thermous from his parents. Hannah got Jason his favorite gift this year. She had his picture of him with his buck put on a piece of wood. It is so cool! Jason was speechless when he opened it. He said it took his breath away! I thought it was so sweet! We got Kenny a tackle box and some fishing supplies and we got LeeAnn some spice jars for her spice cabinet. The boys gave them an ornament with both of their handprints on it which they loved! After we finished opening presents we had a delicious lunch of ham sandwiches and potato soup. After that it was nice to sit and relax with everyone for a while! Jamie, Hannah, Kyle, and I played the Price Is Right On Jamie's iPad and that was a lot of fun! We had to leave a little early than we had planned because Jax did not take a nap like we were hoping. We still had one more stop to make and we had to run by our house first.
