Welcome Home Martha

This afternoon we finally got to welcome home Martha! After 4 long months of her studying abroad in Europe she is finally back home. We are all so relieved that she made it back safely. She got to travel all over the place and had an amazing time! We had fun listening to her stories and just catching up on our lives! She was so excited to get to meet Jax for the first time. As soon as she saw him he smiled at her. We all went over to mom and dad's house for dinner and some champagne and wine to celebrate. Mary's senior prom was also tonight, so we all got to take pictures of her before she left. Alisann did her make up and I did her hair. She looked so beautiful! There theme for the night was a Mascaraed. It was so ironic that Martha got out to show us what souvenirs she got fro her nieces and the were these beautiful masks from Italy. One of them matched Mary's dress perfect so she had to wear that for the night! It was such a great night together for all of us. I am so glad to have my sister back home!

Whenever Alisann went to pop the cork on the champagne Justin made the comment that they do this all the time. meaning that they pop open a bottle of champagne all the time. It doesn't take much to amuse my family so we all thought this was quite funny coming from Justin. We could just picture them popping open a bottle of champagne all the time. We all started in on the teasing. John said, 'Tuesday, Tuesday!' like they were toasting because it was Tuesday and we all got a big laugh out of that. Then Alisann explained that on Holidays they wake up and have mimosas together and that is their tradition. I thought it sounded like a good idea. Then we started in on the comments about how 'no wonder they are always in a good mood at family get together because they are drunk from their morning mimosas!

Getting Things Caught Up

I am on a mission this week to try and get my life and house all caught up and organized. I feel like the past month has been a complete whirlwind of craziness and busyness. I think May is only going to be worst. I can't remember ever being this busy or having so many things going on at once. Jason has been really busy at work and so have I. These are both good things, but it can make for more craziness at home. We have been on the go every weekend for forever now, so our house has been a little neglected. I can't help but feel like I am fighting a loosing battle on keeping things picked up, cleaned, and organized around here. Once I get one room looking good then the next room is destroyed and it is on going around here. I finally got all blogs caught up. I wasn't too far behind, because I usually do at least one post on at least one of my blogs a day, but after all the Easter festivities last weekend I had some catching up to do on all the blogs. Yesterday I made all my blog books for the last year and a half, so now all I have to do is order them. My total is over $600 to order all of them, so I am trying to wait until I can get a coupon code since I am not in any hurry for them. At least they are all made and all I have to do is place the order now. I still have several photobooks that I need to do. Who knows when I will get to that. I think my main concern right now is getting our house under control. I am going to spend the next few rainy days doing that. I am dying to start reading another book. After I finished reading that book last week it got me back in the mood to read again. I have also been busy starting to workout the last few weeks at Tri-State. I have done really good on counting calories the past couple of months. The first month I did it I lost 10 pounds and the second month I lost another 5 pounds. I am back to where I was before I had Jaxson, but I really needed to lose about 5-10 pounds before I got pregnant with him. It seems like just counting calories and eating healthy is not enough to get down to where I want to be (120- 125). I have been working out about 2-3 times a week for about 3 weeks now and I haven't seen a huge difference on the scale but I do feel a lot better and my clothes are fitting better so I know it is doing something. I am trying to decide if I should get a membership to Tri-State after I use up the Groupon. I keep going back and forth on it. CHristian does like the kids club and the ladies there are so good with the kids. I don't think I would feel comfortable leaving my kids at any other place. A ton of my family belongs there so that makes it more motivating to go. I do like having that half hour to hour to myself and I feel so much better and have more energy after I go. One thing that has been really nice is that I have met with a personal trainer twice now and I meet with her one more time next week and she has been showing me lots of different exercises on how to tone my whole body. This has been so helpful since I have no clue how to do any of that, because I have never really worked out before. Another thing that will be nice is in the summer they have and outdoor pool and in the winter it is in doors. They offer swim lessons for infants so I would love to get Jaxson in something like that. I'm sure I will join after this groupon is up, but I do hate to spend so much money every month for it. I just hate having monthly bills! I do have a new obsession lately! A couple of years ago I got obsessed with the Mediterranean White and Blue print from Vera Bradley. Well like most of my obsessions it ran its course and now I am on to a new one. I gave all my mediterranean white stuff to Jamie and LeeAnn to divide up, but I am hanging on to all the blue for now. My new bag obsession is canvas totes! I LOVE the canvas totes from Land's End. I ordered 3 medium bags, one for me, one for, Christian, and one for Jaxson all with our names on them and I ordered an extra large bag with Pickerill on it for the pool and beach this summer. When the bags came in I liked them so much that I of course had to order more. I ordered another medium tote for when we go to Disney world. I want to have our last name on it done in the Disney font. I also ordered some storage totes. I am anxious to see these! I got them for storing stuff in like toys, blankets, books, or magazines and of course I had to have them embroidered with what I want to put in them. I hope I like them as well as I think I will. I am trying to hold off on buying even more totes, but it is hard! Like I said I am obsessed. I think I want to get large totes for all of us with all of our names on them, but then I don't know for sure what I will use them for. I also want to get storage totes for the top of my closet to organize my sweats and sweaters. I am at least going to wait until I get my second order in to see how well I like the storage ones. God help me if I love them. I will end up with everything in my house in totes! I am also getting so excited for our vacation this summer. It is killing me to not be going on one right now. the last two years we have taken our vacations at the end of April. We aren't going until the middle of the summer this year. We are going to Florida with my whole family and I can't wait! I think It will be so fun. We are also taking Christian and Jax to Disney world for the first time. Christian is already so excited! Every time he watches a Disney movie and the Cinderella castle comes up he gets excited and says,'you going to take me there on vacation!' and Every night before bed Christian wants to talk about vacation. I have already started making lists of everything we need to bring with us. I have no idea how we will fit it all in the car, but I'm sure we will manage. Right now I need to focus on this house and getting it under control, so I can enjoy being outside once the weather gets nice. There are just never enough hours in the day!

Dad's 57th Birthday

Last night we went over to mom and dad's to celebrate dad's 57th birthday! Mom fixed a wonderful dinner of salad, turkey burgers, and sweet potato fries. The kids all had fun playing together and they all crowded around grandpa to sing happy birthday and help blow out the candles.

Easter With The Shetler Side

Our last stop for the day was out to my Aunt Karen's house where we celebrated Easter with our Aunts, Uncles and Cousins on the Shetler side. They had an Easter egg hunt down in the basement and Christian had lots of fun getting eggs with both money and candy in them. After the egg hunt we played and adult game of 'hot potato' only we passed an Easter egg instead of a potato. My cousin Elissa won and the egg was filled with candy and money. She gave the egg to christian with the candy in it and he was super excited about that! When we got home we got Christian ready for bed and tucked him in and then I cuddled on the couch with Jax for a little bit. We are spending the rest of the evening watching Weeds and relaxing! I could not believe how good both of our boys were all day long through all the stops we had to make!

Easter With The Folz Side

Our Second stop of the day was to my Aunt Christie's house to see our Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins on the Folz side. It was great getting to hang out with everybody. We didn't have an easter egg hunt because of the weather but the kids all had lots of fun playing together! Jax got to hang out with his second cousin Alexander who was born a little less than a month before him. We got a picture of him, Jax, and Patrick all together since it was all of their's first Easter.

Easter At Mom And Dad's House

Our first stop of the day was a quick one at my mom and dad's. They had a light breakfast of pastries and muffins fixed. We had just enough time to get our easter baskets and have a quick egg hunt in the family room before we headed to the next place. I love that I still get an Easter basket at my parents house. I do have to share with Jason now, but it is still fun to see what goodies the easter bunny left us. This year it was chocolate from Lib's!
